Tucker & Co, TRX designed by Loko Studio has a feature dome light that needs 10 people to install.
LOKO Studio: “It’s a fun project with a lot experimental in new thing!”
Tucker & Co is LOKO Studio’s most recent interior design project, finalized in the year 2023. Describing it as a fun and intriguing endeavor, the studio experimented with various materials and introduced new design elements.
Manly but soft? Play with psychology? Let’s see how they do this kind of design.
During the initial design stage, LOKO Studio commenced the process by generating ideas to create multiple focal points in each section of the restaurant space. These focal points were envisioned to provide unique experiences for visitors, aligning with Tucker & Co’s selling points: Deli, Grill, and Wine Bar.
The primary material selection centers on metal and wood, incorporating soft elements to prevent an overly serious ambiance and avoiding perceptions of being too expensive. To infuse a sense of softness, they chose furniture with fabric textures, including items like lamps and sofas.

A big dome lamp that needed 10 workers to install it! Huh? Why is it worth to do so?
The large dome lamp stands out as a distinctive lighting feature compared to the other lights in the seating area. It forms a visually appealing corner, encouraging visitors to capture photos and share them on social media. Despite the challenging installation process, which demanded the effort of approximately 10 workers to lift and install it on the ceiling, they successfully made it happen!
Others focal points in this Project: Golden glass block wall and unique floor mosaic tile.
Golden glass block is chosen to be material selection of outer wall of Tucker & Co. Why this colour? The colour was chosen to harmonize with the overall ambiance while also making a distinctive statement in the environment. This design serves as a semi-transparent partition, allowing pedestrians glimpses of the interior and creating a captivating glowing effect with the interior lighting.
You can observe that LOKO Studio employed a thoughtful approach in designing the floor of Tucker & Co. Two distinct textures define the walkway area and seating area, featuring an engaging combination of mosaic tiles in various shapes and colors alongside plain tiles. The strategic arrangement of mosaic tiles is designed to evoke a “deli” atmosphere for the restaurant, achieving a successful balance of spatial separation and the creation of a distinctive ambiance.
