Previously operating under British Plaster Board (BPB) plc, the company was procured by the Saint-Gobain Group as part of their strategy, to strengthen its position in multi-regional businesses and to enlarge its gypsum activity. In 2008, the company officially changed its name to Gyproc.


Saint-Gobain Malaysia owns the largest plasterboard manufacturing plant in Malaysia, with a capacity of 16 million square metres per annum. The plant, launched in 2006, serves the growing markets of Malaysia and Singapore offering a portfolio of systems to provide specifiers and builders with innovative interior solutions.
