Penang South Islands
EOWON Architects, in collaboration with Tekuma Frenchman (USA), was among the shortlisted consortiums for the Penang South Island International Masterplan Design Competition. This strategic initiative by the State Government of Penang aims to create a new vision for Penang Island through land reclamation, incorporating industrial and commercial districts, mixed-income housing, public parks, and essential urban amenities. The competition emphasized the integration of smart city planning strategies and sustainable development goals, with involvement from other renowned organizations in areas such as hydraulics, branding, and artificial intelligence integration. Other shortlisted consortiums included Foster + Partners, UN Studio, MVRDV, and Bjarke Ingels Group.
Framing the Transition between Nature and Contemporary Living
The bare sub-sale property underwent a remarkable transformation, becoming a serene and green-filled home for the owners. Situated in a suburban residential neighborhood with beautiful views, the double-storey semi-detached house was designed to seamlessly incorporate natural greenery into the living spaces. The owner’s passion for gardening was given priority, and the floor plan was carefully arranged to create functional connections and a comfortable flow, enhancing the joy of family gatherings.
A fresh perspective to workplace design
Eowon took on the challenge of creating a workplace for Monitor ERP System that captures the essence of Scandinavian aesthetics: clean, minimalist design with a focus on functionality and beauty. The goal was to provide a comfortable and inspiring environment that promotes a sense of home, fosters collaboration, and encourages a fun atmosphere.
