A Bite of Fun: Newclues Design Turns Chulop! Churros into an Experience

At Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), grabbing a churro has become more than just a quick snack, it’s an experience. Newcleus Design has transformed Chulop! Churros into a playful, visually striking destination that blends retro nostalgia with contemporary flair. Every detail is carefully crafted to delight the senses, turning the simple act of enjoying churros into a moment of joy and discovery.
A kiosk echoing the retro charm of the 1970s

Inspired by the vibrant diners of the 1970s, the stall infuses nostalgia with a modern twist. Its swirling, playful colors form a retro pop palette, transforming the space into a lively and inviting experience.

The glowing domes canopy serves a visual beacon, attracting passerby from a distance and gently illuminating the playful checkerboard tiles with a warm inviting light.

Bold, saturated colours set the mood, enhanced by playful checkboard tiles and softened with honey-toned wood, while cheeky touches like “the best churros in town” add warmth and humour to the space.

Staying true to the 70s inspired concept, the designer introduced porthole windows on the kitchen door, a thoughtful nod to retro design that strengthens the visual narrative.

The combination not only creates an inviting atmosphere but also perfectly reflects the brand’s playful and vibrant identity.

Confetti‑style tables & chairs, crafted from waste

The black and white, confetti-like furniture produced using recycled plastic by Precious Plastic Malaysia upcycles waste into purposeful design and introduces a contemporary grunge character to the snack stand.

Chulop snack stand by Newcleus Design demonstrates how thoughtful storytelling in design can draw the eye, evoke delight and transform the everyday ritual of buying churros, all within a modest space.
